Frequently Asked Questions

1. Social Security Number (or SSA Letter) Is Required to Obtain a D.C. Identification Card or Driver’s License.  Non-US Citizens are required to have a Social Security Number. 2. Legal Presence/Status is Not Required to Apply for a D.C. Identification or Driver’s License.
