www.uscis.gov/E-Verify
)
- Employer must notify DSO (Designated
School Official) with 48 hour notice of termination of
employment at the contact information listed on the Form I-20
(USCIS may implement a different method of notification)
- New maximum total OPT (Optional Practical
Training) period is 29 months (represents 17 month increase over
current maximum)
- Student must report to DSO every 6 months
after initial first 12 months of OPT
- DSO must recommend OPT extension and issue
a new I-20 with 17 month extension recommendation
